He was handing over instruments before he could drive.
Dr. Lukenda's father and uncle were both dentists, and he spent his teenage years assisting in their offices — so he had watched a few thousand appointments before he ever sat one of his own exams. Undergraduate degree at Rutgers in 2000, doctorate at UMDNJ in 2004, then hundreds of hours of further training pointed at a single thing: implants. The International Congress of Oral Implantologists made him a Fellow in 2014.
What that adds up to in practice is the cases other offices send away — dentitions that are failing all at once, full-arch reconstruction, and jaws that have been told there isn't enough bone. Off the clock: a guitar, and a French bulldog called Lulu who outranks everybody.
